We’re proud to celebrate Howard Ball, who has just successfully completed his Level 2 Gym Instructor’s course and passed with flying colours. At 67, he continues to prove that determination and a love of learning have no age limit.

Despite facing the significant challenge of throat cancer, his resilience has been inspiring. His commitment to his studies has impressed everyone around him, and it’s been a privilege to support him on his journey.

Looking ahead, he plans to progress onto Level 3 in the New Year — a goal we’re confident he’ll achieve with the same strength and enthusiasm he’s shown so far.

Howard added "I am just about to take my gym assessment for the level 2 Gym instructor. I started the course just a few months ago and have been so impressed with the level of contact and support I have had from the team. Allowing me to get through the modules quite quickly. The feedback received has always encouraged me to push on.
I suffer from the effects of throat cancer so verbal communication is challenging although not impossible. My tutor has been mindful of this throughout the process."
